Rear-view Mirror Pivot Shaft

In spite of not being a visible part from the rear-view mirror assembly, tourillions are crucial for the proper fitting and functioning of the assembly and have a direct impact on the final aspect of the rear-view mirror, as they enable to assembly the mirror foot with the rest of the mirror. Consequently, it is important to make sure that the areas fitting with the mirror foot and mirror housing are OK. Considering the relative simpleness of the part, such controls are usually made by Go/No Go controls.

Our checking fixtures are produced in aluminium, the components submitted to wear-and-tear are produced in steel. Tolerances for RPS (fixation points) and dial indicator points: ±0.05mm. Tolerances for simulation blocks: ±0.1mm.

Minimum documentation: dimensional report of your checking fixture, 2D assembly drawing, assembly CAD. Optional documentation: R&R report, user manual, stabilization certificate.

Pivot shaft checking fixture
  • Aluminium base plate
  • Fixation of the part on its three fixation holes by three conic-shaped centring pins
  • Control of the part by a fixed block simulating the outline of the part, with a gap controlled by Go/No Go pin.
  • Control of the part fitting area with the mirror housing by mountability: gauge simulating the shape of the housing.
